2010 Serve Idaho Conference


10th Annual Serve Idaho Inland Northwest Conference on Service, Volunteerism & Non-Profit Administration

Hosted by Serve Idaho - Governor's Commission on Service & Volunteerism in partnership with Idaho Department of Labor & United Way of Kootenai County Idaho

This event was attended by 209 people who are dedicated to building communities through civic engagement, networking and celebrating volunteerism. The conference offered highly interactive workshops lead by state and national experts who shared best practices, creative strategies and a generous amount of resources.

Service Projects
On Thursday February 25th, 2010, conference attendees will participate in a variety of service projects throughout Coeur d'Alene.

If you have any questions on service projects or would like to host a project, please contact the service project coordinator Renee Cox at renee.cox@labor.idaho.gov or phone 208-332-3578 ext 4786.

The following agencies will be hosting this year's service projects:

  • Project Linus - Located at the Coeur d’Alene Resort. Get Creative! Volunteers will be preparing handmade cards and handmade blankets for the children of the National Guard troops who will be re-deployed in September. The blankets and cards will be distributed by Project Linus.
  • ElderHelp of North Idaho - Located at 1860 W. Hayden Way in Hayden. Help the Elderly Keep Warm! Volunteers will be splitting and loading firewood that will later be distributed to the homes of the elderly.
  • Pinewood Care Center - Located at 2514 North 7th Street. Brighten Someone’s Day! Volunteers will be spending time visiting and playing games with the residents and cleaning up the care center.
  • St Vincent De Paul - Located at 201 East Harrison. Grab your Brush and Shovel! Volunteers will be painting and doing landscaping work.
  • Glory Be Preschool - First Presbyterian Church of Coeur d'Alene - Located at 521 Lakeside Ave. Roll up your Sleeves! Volunteers will be painting and deep cleaning.
  • Coeur d'Alene Parks Department (Tubbs Hill) - Spruce up the Trail! Volunteers will be cleaning up the trash along the trails.
  • Post Falls Parks and Recreation (Black Bay Park) - Located at 1200 E. 3rd Post Falls. Grab your Gloves! Volunteers will be cleaning up the Park.
  • Post Falls Parks and Recreation (Q'emiln Park) -Located at 12201 W. Parkway Drive Post Falls. Grab your rake! Volunteers will be cleaning up the beach and the park.
  • Post Falls Food Bank - Located at 415 E. Third Street Post Falls. Help Keep the Food Bank Stocked! Volunteers will be working at the food bank and helping load, unload and set up for their annual fundraising event.
